About Bruce
“I produce prints using lino, and paintings in acrylics and mixed media. I also produce one-off artist’s books.
My inspiration comes from wild birds, who frequent our garden and the marshes which lead down to the River Bure. I am interested in attempting to capture the individuality of each bird. I am also interested in how nature is depicted in the art of other cultures, particularly in India and the Middle East.
I studied fine art at Ravensbourne College of Art and Design and then taught for many years. In 1996, I won a competition to design a new £2.00 coin which was in production for 19 years. In 2011, I also designed the Sailing 50 pence coin for the 2012 London Olympics.”
